What You Can Expect from Copyediting/Proofreading

Is your manuscript nearly finished, but you’re worried about small errors slipping through?

Do you want your writing to feel polished, professional, and ready for submission or publication?

  • Introductory Session

We begin with a one-on-one session where you share your manuscript, goals, and where you are in the process. This helps me understand your intentions and ensure the editing supports your voice and style.

  • Optional Follow-Up Session

You can book a follow-up session to review edits, ask questions, and feel confident moving forward with a polished manuscript.

Ready to polish your manuscript?

Open Children's Book for Proofreading / Copyediting
  • Copyediting

A detailed, line-level edit that focuses on the correctness and consistency of your writing. I review grammar, usage, syntax, punctuation, and mechanics to ensure your manuscript is clear, precise, and easy to read. This includes correcting sentence structure, resolving inconsistencies, improving clarity, and refining language where needed while preserving your voice and intent. Edits are made directly in your manuscript, with in-text comments to explain changes and support your understanding of the revisions.

  • Proofreading

This is a final polish. At this stage, I focus on catching any remaining surface errors such as typos, missing words, punctuation issues, and formatting inconsistencies. All corrections are made in-text, with light comments as needed to flag anything that requires your attention before finalizing.
